Compare fuel costs of two cars using your annual distance
A one-litre difference per 100 km is easier to judge in euros per year. This calculator exposes every input, so you can change the scenario instead of trusting one headline number.

The calculation
Annual fuel cost = annual kilometres ÷ 100 × litres per 100 km × euros per litre. With 15,000 km, 6 L/100 km and €2 per litre, the result is €1,800. At 5 L/100 km it is €1,500: a €300 annual difference. These prices and consumption figures are illustrative inputs, not current market quotes.
Distance changes the decision
Keeping those assumptions, the difference is €160 at 8,000 km, €300 at 15,000 km and €600 at 30,000 km. If the more economical car costs €1,500 extra to buy, fuel-only recovery takes five years at 15,000 km. Maintenance, resale value and financing can change that conclusion.
